Great comment.
Big smiles on the faces of EA and DICE execs as the drones spend hours down-voting MW3 on Metacritic.
As if any self respecting gamer is going to wait potentially years for a much anticipated title to come out, and then just optionally wait ANOTHER few weeks on top to save a measly few pounds.
List of nominees surely can't be finalised yet!
Anyway, their competition is a joke if Gears 3 doesn't get the nod.
From his review, on Uncharted and Tomb Raider:
"Uncharted took the Tomb Raider formula and improved on it with meaningful characters, latest-gen graphics, and hearty gunplay.
"But why does it keep Tomb Raider's acrobatics when it treats them as such a pointless formality?
"In Tomb Raider, you jumped and climbed as a way of exploring the world and solving puzzles.
"Lara Croft's moves were...
Videogames had the ability to be 'cinematic' long before the modern-day QTE-fests. The term now basically means 'big action you don't get to control'.
"Possibility of four active platforms", that says it all. They being doing a great job spreading major releases across DS and Wii this gen, having two more consoles to cater for sounds like a bridge too far.
MS have done well to get production rolling on these six games - now they need to do everything they can to advertise them, make sure they sell, and make sure the next generation of Kinect titles is as strong.
Well, I'm certainly willing to point to the taking away of control from the player as a negative.
The Guardian's review said Uncharted 3 "represents what we all hoped games would eventually evolve into" - I find that a troubling thought.
This is easily the most hilarious review score related 'controversy' to hit the internet in a good two or three days.
Well said. BOYCOTT TEAM MEAT!
Dude must really be struggling if he's desperate for that extra £100. I'd say sell it, you need to eat and keep your home warm. Then in some years, when your life sucks less, you can buy a new one.
Out of all the exclusives on Live Arcade, why would PS3-only dudes get angry about this junk?
As other posters have pointed out, it was already known this had Kinect support - the news from 'MineCon' (lol) is that it's been delayed from this winter to next spring.
Great time to buy it, I reckon, amid a swarm of new games now and ahead of the really big stuff next year.
Could this be a secret sign that it's set in Ireland? Playing as a former terrorist turned politican turned presidential candidate?
I listed the companies instead of the games because I think that’s more significant in the long term.
But you ask for a game, so I’ll pick out Dance Central. An exclusive from a high profile third party. A new music series from the Guitar Hero, Rock Band people, that’s on the same tier in terms of quality but that you can only play on Kinect.
That blows me away!
As for SOCOM and KZ3, you can play them without Move so I ask - why bother...
The fact that those companies - of the highest pedigree - are on board means EVERYTHING.
They should push those games as hard as possible, although I think they already are in adverts, in conferences etc.
Those companies aren't making casual games, nor are they making bad games. Sesame Street, Kinectimals etc. aren't 'crap', they're being recieved as excellent titles for their market. I'm fine with that, others aren't. Whateve...
It's in Halo Anniversary and Forza 4.
The next major games from Rare and Lionhead use it.
They've got Crytek, Harmonix, Konami, Sega, From, Grasshopper, Double Fine making games you can only play on Kinect.
So to say it's not incorporated into anything major is, well, a bit ridiculous.
:)
I hate Kotaku so damn much, lol.
I'm sure it's pure coincidence they're running this article in favour of the game and a big advert for a well-known online retailer that's selling it (and apparently 'presenting it' too).
